America is the name of a whole continent. United States of America means that the United States belongs to America and NOT that America belongs to the United States. So, next time you want to refer to The United States of America, you can do it as U.S. or the States or whatever you want but not as only America. Gotcha?

Here we will show you some wrong and correct uses of the term America:
This is how we do it in America.
This is how we do it in the States.
America is my country and I love it.
The United States is my country and I love it.
America lost the Vietnam war.
U.S.A. lost the Vietnam war.
Here in America we love Mc Donald's.
Here in the U.S. we love Mc Donald's.Please, note that this page in not about demonyms (gentilics) but about the way to call a country.

Remember how Mrs. Roda Saris Anonymous wouldn’t admit the obvious fact that her precious 1507 Waldseemüller map clearly labels only South America as ‘America’, and clearly labels North America as ‘Parias’? Remember when she lied about the meaning of the Schöner quote? Schöner clearly states that America and Parias are separate regions, yet Misses the Obvious ridiculously claimed that he meant the opposite. That’s classic Mrs. Roda Saris Anonymous for you. Always willing to state obvious falsehoods in defense of her “arguments”.
Where did the USA get the name "America" from?
The answer to your question is obviously already in my post that you responded to. Duh. Your reading comprehension is so abysmal that it almost makes me physically ill.
You don't answer the question because you don't want to admit that your are WRONG!
Remember when Mrs. Roda Saris Anonymous argued for months that ‘America’ isn’t a word? And of course she didn’t post any links to reputable sources that supported her claim. Because there are no reputable sources that support her claim. Because her claim is complete BS. Remember how I posted many links that proved the obvious fact that ‘America’ is a word? That’s how you do it, kids. That’s how you completely and very easily destroy an obviously ridiculous “argument”.
crazy!
Yes, crazy biased, ignorant, and simple-minded. In other words, your standard operating procedure.
hey this is not a political forum, you must had pressed the wrong link...lol
America comes from "Amerigo Vespucci" an Italian bloke.
Such calm after the destruction. I have seen this before.
STUPID RIDICULOUS DAVID, STOP SPAMMING THE WEBSITE WITH YOUR STUPID IGNORANCE.
Thanks Mrs. Saris for your great shared knowledge that actually contributes coherently to the topic.
Spammers like the anormal idiot who will never comprehend and are stocked within their locked Parkinsonized brain are needed in this world to full fill our desire to explode our anger every time we are in pleasure to do so.
Thanks to you STUPID DAVID as well because of this and still have to let you know that your responses greatly makes me vomit.
Anytime that I wish to vomit I will come back to this website and read your comments and responses.
You cannot disprove one thing that I have posted. Where are your facts? Show me one reputable source that says ‘the United States of America’ is not a proper name. It was easy for me to find proof that it is a proper name. Where is your proof that it isn’t? We both know that you will not find proof of your claims because what you post is BS. This is really easy. If your statements are true, provide links to the sources. This is what I do. This is how I very easily destroy your so-called arguments. RESEARCH AND THINK, PAYASO.
