America is the name of a whole continent. United States of America means that the United States belongs to America and NOT that America belongs to the United States. So, next time you want to refer to The United States of America, you can do it as U.S. or the States or whatever you want but not as only America. Gotcha?

David since you think you are better than anyone else here, can you explain how the continent went from "America"(we had established before that this is the name given to the continent and accepted by the world) to "The Americas"?
Learn how to do your own research. Read books. Learn how to accurately comprehend the material. Learn how to draw valid conclusions from the material. Stop stating falsehoods. Stop denying obvious and readily verifiable facts that don’t support your fantasies, wishes, worldview, and prejudices.

In your simplemindedness you choose to call it American propaganda. That’s fine. We can all live with that. But the dictionary entries are factually accurate, and that meaning of America existed before cinema, radio, and television. Try again.
And even if it were true that the meaning of America as the USA only existed because of American propaganda, it still exists. It doesn’t magically cease to exist just because you mistakenly think it only exists due to American propaganda. This is reality, not your fantasy realm.

There is nothing in English that calls America, they are:

But nothing called just America.
I will add that when it is convenient for the U.S. Central America is also in their vocabulary especially when it deals with illegal immigrants from that part of the continent.
And to let others understand that this Central America is not actually in the middle of the United States, the one they think is America, but it is actually the middle of the continent of America.

Pan-America, Panamericano, Panamericana, or in English Panamerican. Not Panamericas, Panamericasno, Panamericasna, Panamericasn. What does it mean? Prefix. Pan -, a prefix from the Greek πᾶν, pan , meaning "all", "of everything", or "involving all members" of a group. All of America = Pan America. And it doesn't mean the USA. The carretera Panamericana does not only go through the U.S.A. but throughout America the continent. Pan-Americana Pan-American doesn't relate to the USA only and as you can see it means Everything in America is American not the USA though.
